Abstract
Regime overthrows often occur in Arab regions in the 21st century, for example, revolutions in Algeria (Houari Boumedienne), Tunisia (Ben Ali), Libya (Muammar Gaddafi), Yemen (Ali Abdullah Saleh) and Egypt (Hosni Mubarak). Arab countries, such as Egypt, still have a political system and culture far from democratic values. Egypt still has and maintains traditional politics and a kingdom with absolute power in the hands of the rulers. Author Alaa Al Aswani criticizes Egypt through the work of the Apartemen Yacoubian. Aswani wrote of a public disappointment for the decades restrained by the regime of Hosni Mubarak. The pile of disappointment in Egypt was in line with the political criticism that occurred in Tunisia so that the Egyptian people found the right time to carry out a revolution for the coup of the Hosni Mubarak regime with the overflow of the Muslim Brotherhood movement. Alaa Al Aswani presents the Egyptian revolution which was quite cruel and caused a long conflict until the collapse of the Hosni Mubarak regime.
